3 Days in Phu Quoc: A Budget-Smart 3-Day, 2-Night Itinerary

Three days and two nights is enough to “touch” both the north and south of Phu Quoc if you group sights by area. This itinerary focuses on the best-value experiences and minimises travel time.

  1. Day 1: Arrival – North Island – Grand World
  2. Day 2: South Island by boat – Sunset Town

  4. Money-saving tips for 3 days

For a 3-day Phu Quoc itinerary, the golden rule is one region per day: the North Island on one day, the South Island on another, and an easy last day for souvenirs. With two nights, stay in Duong Dong or along Long Beach so both ends of the island are within reach.

Day 1: Arrival – North Island – Grand World

  • Morning: land, check in, lunch on bun quay or herring salad in Duong Dong.
  • Afternoon: head north: starfish at Rach Vem, Ganh Dau Cape, then a swim at Bai Dai at sunset.
  • Evening: stroll Grand World – the “city that never sleeps” – take a boat on the Venice canal and catch an evening show.

Prefer not to ride the forest roads? The private open-top Jeep tour to Starfish Beach starts right at Grand World, with a driver who doubles as your photographer.

Day 2: South Island by boat – Sunset Town

  • Morning – afternoon: speedboat or yacht around the An Thoi islands: swimming, coral snorkelling, seafood lunch. Our pick: the Nautilus yacht and May Rut Trong Island (no shopping stops).
  • Late afternoon: back on land in An Thoi, visit Sunset Town and watch the sunset from the Kiss Bridge.
  • Evening: the Kiss of the Sea show and fireworks (check the schedule first).

Want the cable car on the same day? Choose the Mediterranean Romance – Cable Car – Kiss of the Sea tour.

Day 3: Local shopping – airport

  • Morning: breakfast of bun ken, then Duong Dong market or a fish sauce, pepper or pearl shop for souvenirs. Ideas in our top 15 Phu Quoc specialties.
  • Noon: check out and head to the airport (about 15 minutes from the centre).

Flying out in the evening? Use the morning of day 3 for Dinh Cau, Truc Lam Ho Quoc Zen Monastery or a beach near the airport such as Long Beach.

Money-saving tips for 3 days

  • Book a flight + hotel package or grab early fares; avoid holidays.
  • Stay central to cut transport costs; rent a scooter if you are two.
  • Choose all-inclusive sea tours with pick-up and lunch – often cheaper than hiring a boat yourself.
  • Eat seafood at the night market and ask prices first.
