Phu Quoc with kids is a joy: wide roads, plenty of child-friendly attractions and resorts with pools and kids’ clubs. This itinerary splits 2 nights on the North Island and 1 night in the centre or south, so no day involves long drives.

Ground rules for Phu Quoc with small children

  • Maximum 2 main activities a day; rest from 11:30 to 14:30 when the sun is strongest.
  • Choose a resort with a shallow pool, a gently sloping beach and attractions nearby.
  • Pack children’s sunscreen, hats, sun-protective clothing and travel-sickness medicine.
  • For sea trips, pick large boats with children’s life jackets and safe ladders into the water.

Day 1: Check in on the North Island – pool – Grand World at night

Fly in, check into a North Island resort, let the kids swim and nap. In the evening stroll Grand World: a canal boat ride, a show and dinner. Easy walking with plenty of places to sit.

Day 2: Vinpearl Safari in the morning – VinWonders in the afternoon

Enter Vinpearl Safari early, when the animals are active and it is cooler, and take the vehicle through the open-range area. Rest at lunchtime, then spend the afternoon at VinWonders on age-appropriate rides and stay for the evening show. Details in our one-day VinWonders and Safari guide.

Day 3: A calm sea day – starfish or a yacht

Two child-friendly options:

In the afternoon move to a hotel in the centre or south for the last night.

Day 4: Cable car – water park – airport

If you fly in the evening, spend the morning on the Hon Thom cable car and at Aquatopia water park – kids love it. With a full day, the Hon Thom cable car + Nautilus yacht combo is a great fit. Early flight? Swap it for a swim and souvenir shopping.

Kids who love the water? Older children can try the Seawalker undersea walk – no swimming needed, with a 1:1 instructor (ask about age limits first).

What to pack for children

  • Documents: your child’s birth certificate or passport for flights.
  • Swimwear, a small life vest if you have one, goggles, beach shoes.
  • Fever reducer, digestive aids, insect repellent.
  • A compact stroller for Grand World and VinWonders.

Frequently asked questions

Is Phu Quoc good for families with young children?

Very: there are theme parks, an open-range safari park, water parks and many resorts with pools and gently sloping beaches.

Where should families with small children stay?

The North Island is close to VinWonders, the Safari and Grand World; add a night in the centre or south for island trips and the cable car.

Are sea tours safe for small children?

Choose large boats with children’s life jackets, go on calm days and always keep an adult right beside children in the water.

Is doing the Safari and VinWonders in one day too tiring?

It is doable if you visit the Safari early, rest at lunchtime and do VinWonders in the afternoon; with very young children, split them over two days.
